With two main city-centre campuses, there is no end of brilliant accommodation available to students at LJMU.
Liverpool has a large student population so you’ll find all types of student accommodation here, including cluster flats, ensuites and private studios. Whatever your requirements, preferences and priorities, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect place for you. Search by budget, distance to campus or any facilities you need, as well as whether you want all the bills to be included in the price.
Some of our favourite accommodations include IconInc, The Ascent; find soundproof music room, a game zone, on-site gym and cinema and a 24-hour concierge in this luxury accommodation less than five minutes from the Mount Pleasant campus. Also close to Mount Pleasant campus is Agnes Jones House, with everything from shared bathrooms in cluster flats to studios, and the option of adding parking for an extra fee if you’d like to bring your car.
If you would prefer to be near the City Campus, check out Vita Student – it’s less than a ten-minute walk into the campus and offers a coffee lounge, an on-site gym and yoga classes.
Ranked 80th in the country, LJMU courses rank in the top ten for Materials Technology, Land and Property Management, and Agriculture and Forestry.
LMJU can be found in Liverpool city centre, split into two main campuses. The City Campus is just a short walk from some of Liverpool’s biggest attractions and houses buildings for a variety of teaching and courses. The Mount Pleasant campus is framed by the gorgeous Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals.
Students at LJMU can expect access to their career services, including 1:1 support meetings, the 24/7 Careers Zone and opportunities to access flexible, part-time paid work through the university’s on-campus recruitment agency. This can help boost practical skills as well as promoting industry knowledge and employability.

Situated between the two main teaching campuses is the LJMU Student Life Building and Sports Building. The student union, JMSU, can be found here and offers over 100 societies to try something new as well as volunteering opportunities and events throughout the year. The LJMU Sport Building offers amazing membership deals and more than 40 health and fitness classes to take up, and it’s only open to LJMU students and staff.
There is a library on each campus, with study spaces as well as bookable group study areas and computers. You can also find the Learning Commons in the Student Life Building, which is open 24/7 during semester – so when your deadline is coming up fast, you can drop into a study space and get focused!
There are plenty of accommodation options very close to both campuses. Hope Street Apartments is just a three-minute walk from the Mount Pleasant Campus, while Byrom Point is just a two-minute walk from the City Campus.
We recommend looking into accommodation as soon as possible, so you can get a good spot. If you’re starting in September, you should usually be booking at the start of that year to ensure you get a place you want.
The university has two main campuses. Both Mount Pleasant Campus and City Campus are in Liverpool city and are less than a 20-minute walk apart with the Student Life Building between them, so whichever LJMU accommodation you choose, you’ll be able to get to classes on either campus easily.
